Early Experiences and Career Choices
Defree was born into a rural family in Jiangsu, China. He grew up on a farm in the mountains of Qionghai, Hainan, and lived a simple yet resilient life. This experience cultivated his independence, strong will, and fearless qualities. In order to pursue better education and career development, he went to Wuxi to study international trade. After graduation, he worked in a cable factory, which allowed him to continuously learn and grow, accumulate valuable industry experience, and have a profound understanding of green energy.
Challenges and Opportunities of First Entrepreneurship
In his work at the cable factory, Defree realized that he had higher career ideals and industry vision, so he overcame all obstacles and founded Wuxi Sun King Energy Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on providing photovoltaic solutions for overseas power stations. In the early stages of entrepreneurship, Defree faced many difficulties such as funding shortages and fierce market competition. He devoted himself to learning and, with a tenacious spirit and a business philosophy of solving problems and providing value for customers, gradually won the recognition of users and accumulated valuable experience and customer resources.In 2015, the company faced the risk of closure due to policy adjustments, and the support of a new customer enabled company to transform and enter the field of photovoltaic module trading. This transformation not only helped the company overcome difficulties, but also laid the foundation for future development. With the changing market demand, SUNKEAN took a crucial step by establishing its own cable and harness processing factory in 2017, transitioning from a trading company to physical brokerage.

Defree focuses on self-improvement and knowledge accumulation. He has completed the Public Relations program at Nanjing University and the EMBA program at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. These educational experiences not only enriched his knowledge system, but also enhanced his understanding of business management and market operations, and strengthened his entrepreneurial beliefs.
